You might notice we only source beans from 3 origins - why is this? That’s because we believe that while the story behind any coffee bean may be fascinating, and while commercial awards, instagram followings, special lot varieties, the latest tech and anything else of that nature is nothing to be scoffed at - achieving consistency of flavour in the cup is definitely the most important, and most interesting part of the process of coffee!
There are lots of coffee regions in the world now - however India, Kenya and Ethiopia especially, are among the northern regions that naturally grew and cultivated coffee as a remedy beverage; a praticed routine performed every morning with the goal of satisfying your soul. That’s our core attitude too, to simplify. The beans that come from the plantations of Harrar, Ratnagiri, and Kasinga really are some of the most versatile beans to roast, brew, and serve. They all can stand on their own with incredibly layered qualities, and also jump into a blend seamlessly with one another…dark/light roast, espresso/filter/cold brew, these beans are the true all rounders of the coffee game.

We also have a pickup option available at checkout, so you can buy your bags and pick them up at any KVCC Academy.
Ethiopia Harrar Longberry
The original - and where it all started. If you search up the history of the walled city of Harrar, you'll find yourself lost in the story of a Frenchman masquerading as a muslim to live the rest of his life in isolation, who was ultimately responsible for the spread of coffee around the world! Smooth milk chocolate and juicy blueberries fill out this historic bean. Revered in Ethiopia and the world, brew yourself the most iconic heirloom variety coffee today.
India Ratnagiri Estate
Nestled in the Bababudan mountains in south-west India, this is where Indian coffee originated. Our co-founder Gavin Folden has visited this plantation himself previously, and we have continued buying from them for the better part of 15 years. As part of a blend, this plump bean complements any flavour profile, and on it’s own results in a sharp nut-chocolate flavour with a citrus finish.
Kenya Kasinga AA
One of the smallest, finest raw beans; but it's got the most attitude. Renowned for consistently high quality coffee as well as being incredibly flexible in the roast, this Kenyan, whether roasted light for a filter or dark for an espresso, will bring rich notes of dark cocoa to dance in your mouth with an intense, malty finish.
