Ethiopia Harrar Longberry
The original - and where it all started. If you search up the history of the walled city of Harrar, you'll find yourself lost in the story of a Frenchman masquerading as a muslim to live the rest of his life in isolation, who was ultimately responsible for the spread of coffee around the world! Smooth milk chocolate and juicy blueberries fill out this historic bean. Revered in Ethiopia and the world, brew yourself the most iconic heirloom variety coffee today.
India Ratnagiri Estate
Nestled in the Bababudan mountains in south-west India, this is where Indian coffee originated. Our co-founder Gavin Folden has visited this plantation himself previously, and we have continued buying from them for the better part of 15 years. As part of a blend, this plump bean complements any flavour profile, and on it’s own results in a sharp nut-chocolate flavour with a citrus finish.
Kenya Githongo AB
One of the smallest, finest raw beans; but it's got the most attitude. Being incredibly flexible in the roast, our Kenyan, whether roasted light for a filter or dark for an espresso, will bring dark cocoa to dance in your mouth with a rich malty finish.
Special Cosmic Blend
The blend that will take you to another galaxy. We use our old favourites of Ethiopian Harrar, Indian Ratnagiri and Kenyan Githongo AB beans, roasted to a light espresso profile. What we achieve is a smooth, complex flavour of dark chocolate, caramelised raisins and plums. To truly enjoy the cosmic blend avoid using this coffee in any milk, as it will tend to be on the weaker and more sour side. Try coffee how it's meant to be - intergalactic. A more classic espresso style; we roast our "Cosmic Blend" - the Harrar, Indian and Kenyan with a certain darkness in mind… low and slow. We've developed this to be the most versatile, highest quality espresso blend available. For anyone that likes their coffee bold but not burnt, fresh but not bitter, dark but delicate - this ones for you. The blend we use at KVCC HQ @ Betty’s Bar, Kangaroo Valley.
